It was Monday April 15, 2013, I’m in visitation chopping game with my homie Pooh, a laid back real cool type dude from Houston, and in walks the homie Tommy TwistedBlack Burns! At the time I’m really not sure if this was Black, cause I’ve never met him personally. However, I’ve seen pictures of him in magazines while I was locked up, so I’m looking as he head’s toward his visit (he’s bout 25 ft away). I tell Pooh “that look like Twisted Black over there”. (Now remember Pooh is from H-Town) Pooh tells me that he “heard Twisted Black was on this unit” but he didn’t know if that was him. However, he did mention that he be chopping it up a little bit on the rec yard with the guy I was staring down by now lol I say that cause Black is now looking at me with that “Damn nigga what’s up” look lol I catch my self cause in my mind I’m thinking “Damn you ARE looking all over there” lol This is visitation so it wasn’t no going over and halla at him, so I asked him “Black?” (where he could hear it but not loud enough to be noticed by everyone). He nodded his head and said “Yea”. I gave a nod with an “Already” and stopped disturbing his visit (I know how it is when it comes to visits). Pooh then ask me if there was anything I want him to tell Black? “Let Black know I’m out the Funk my name is littlejohn76133.. nepheworld.. what up with the interview?” Then we went on with our visit also..

How do you feel about street rap vs commercial/radio rap? Is there a difference? What approach should artist use to make a song be commercial and street? How important is a budget? Are radio slots really bought? Will a song catch without a budget?
(any one of these will be cool)
NOW A DAYS STREET REAP IS COMMERCIAL HOMIE. THERE CAN BE A DIFFERENCE THOUGH. SOME SONGS ARE JINGLE, AND GIMMICKS MADE FOR THAT PARTICULAR TIME, THOSE ARE “REALLY” COMMERCIAL, BUT IF U PAY ATTENTION, MOST SONGS HAVE A STREET FEEL TO THEM NOW. LOOK AT KAT DALLIA, OR EVEN LIL WAYNE AND NIKKIS NEW SONG..SCHOOL SOMETHING I THINK. DON’T WRITE SOMETHING THAT IS INTENDED TO BE COMMERCIAL, BECA– USE IT WILL USUALLY BE CORNY, JUST DON’T STAY IN THE BOX. MAKE SURE THAT IF U WANT COMMERCIAL, THE TRACK FEELS GOOD AND IS BROAD.
THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION, AND THE BEST WAY TO ANSWER IT IS GO BACK TO 05 WHEN JEEZY CAME ON STRONG AND LOOK AT HIS SINGLES. NOW RECITE THE LYRICS…DOPE MUSIC PUT TO MELODIC TRACKS!
A BUDGET BECOMES IMPORTANT WHEN U HAVE A HIT! NOT B4!! UTILIZE FREE PROMO(INTERNET). GET THAT SONG GOING IN YA CITY, AND ON LINE. WORRY ABOUT A BUDGET WHEN U HAVE A HIT T O PUSH. THAT’S JUST MY OPINION HOMIE.
YES, YOUR SONG WILL CATCH, NO BUDGET NEEDED. A CERTIFIED BANGER WILL SPREAD IN A CLUB, AND CREATE U A BUZZ.

what would you like to see a fort worth artist do to set the tone for the city? what would you do different being an artists in fort worth? Who would you like to work with major and indie artists?
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE AN ARTIST CREATE A LANE, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS, U HAVE LONGEVITY BECA– USE U DON’T PLAY OUT WITH THE TRENDS.
I WOULD PROBABLY PUT TOGETHER A MOB FROM DFW AND PUSH THE WHOLE CIRCLE. BASICALLY HOG THE LANE, FORCE FEED THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY COULD NOT DENY THE MOVEMENT.
IF GIVEN THE CHANCE I WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH JEEZY, WELL, THE OLD JEEZY, M & M(THE WHITE ONE) L.O.L., JADA KISS, BEANIE SEIGEL. ON THE INDY SIDE, Z-R0, YO-GOTTI, EVEN THOUGH 2 CHAINS IS ON A MAJOR, HIM TOO. THE ONLY REASON I WOULD WANT TO WORK WITH THESE GUYS WOULD BE TO SMASH THEM. NOT ON NO HATE TIME, BUT THEY WOULD BE IN MY LANE, SO I WOULD “CRUSH” THEM IN 16 BARS. OUT SIDE OF THEM, I WILL WORK WITH OUR LOCAL ARTIST, JUST TO SHOW MY LOVE, AS I DID WITH MY HUSTLE OR GO BROKE VOLUMES..

What yung niggas from yo city gotta do to get yo respect? cause i know i’m FREE TWISTED BLACK damn near every song!!
TO GAIN MY RESPECT IN MUSIC, U HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST. NOT JUST A RAPPER, BUT ARTIST. LEARN THE ART, LEARN HOW TO HEAR INSIDE THE MUSIC, LEARN THE PIANO, GUITAR ETC… U DON’T HAVE TO BE PRINCE, BUT IF U KNOW WHAT IT IS, U KNOW WHAT U WANT IN YOUR TRACKS.
THANKS FOR THE SHOUT OUTS, THAT IS REAL OF U, BUT I WILL RESPECT U IF U JUST GIVE IT ALL U GOT..THAT’S MY WORD.

With your son being in the rap game now, what do you expect from him? Will he be following in your foot steps as far as the rap game or will be creating a new sound? I Am The Party has been looking at your son and the New Money Gang, has your son mentioned anything about I Am The Party? What is your next project and if there is something in the works can I Am The Party be apart of it?
I EXPECT MY SON TO WORK HARD, AND THAT IS WHY HE IS NOT SIGNED YET. HE COULD HAVE BEEN THERE BECA– USE HE HAS THE TALENT, BUT HIS WORK ETHIC IS IN QUESTION. I KNOW HE WANTS IT, BUT I CANT GIVE IT TO HIM, ONLY HELP HIM. HE ALSO CANT LIVE “THE LIFE” AND THINK THAT I WILL BE A PART OF IT. HE HAS TO BE ABLE TO KNOW THAT IT’S A JOB, AND NOT A LIFE STYLE, THAT’S WHERE I FUMBLED.
I HAVE NOT HEARD OF U YET, BUT I AM OPEN TO THE FUTURE.
MY NEXT PROJECT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Besides having good music & grind.. what kind of team did u build to get you to the next level?
YOUR TEAM HAS TO BELIEVE IN YOUR VISION, AND IF THEY KNOW THEY ARE INCLUDED, THEY WILL CATAPULT U TO THE NX LEVEL.
THEY JUST HAVEN’T BEEN IN OUR WORLD B4, BUT THERE ARE SOME INSTANCES THAT IT ACTUALLY DOES HAPPEN OVER NIGHT, JUST NOT MUCH IN THE GHETTO..
VERY FEW HAVE KEPT IT 100, BUT THAT’S THE NATURE OF THE BEAST.
HOW OLD ARE U?? IF U ARE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW ABOUT ME, THEN U SHOULD KNOW THAT I WAS THE FIRST TO UNITE DFW.. I ALSO HAD MORE FTW FEATURES THAN ANY ONE. I ALWAYS GAVE YUNGINS A SHOT..HUSTLE OR GO BROKE WAS ALL US HOMIE. I JUST MADE SURE THEY WERE HUNGRY. I LEFT TOO QUICK IS ALL. TRUST ME I AM STILL PUTTING MY FINGERS IN HELPING YALL BLOW, BEST I CAN..
My lyrics had an effect on the jury, because the judge would not allow the songs as evidence, but the D.A slick ass said, ” but judge he’s saying he’s going to cook his way to the top, all he needs is a Pyrex pot”!! Now of course the judge told the jury to strike what he just said, but they heard it and the damage was done!
In all honesty, I haven’t heard many groups out of the city lately. I do know that the Trap squad boyz get it in, and Paper Chase, but no disrespect to any one I thought I would see some bubbles from the Funk by now.
Oh yeah, my son got work, and I’m not just saying that because he is my boy. If he was wack, I would tell him to take up Tennis or something. I keep it 1 hun about he music because I know that is what an artist needs to succeed.
Who do you feel is next to hold the City down?
It was suppose to be u Monte Wayne along time ago soldier, but I think u are slowing down.
Be on the look out for Fly Ken. A young guy that I done a collab with lately. He has the drive, and skillz.
I have been really grooming my son, and now my nephew (lil sleepy). But please know that I am open to work with who ever “IS” hot.
I hope that I can be remembered as One of the Best that Never done it musically, but at the end of the dayI want my name mentioned in the same sentence with integrity. That means a lot to me.
Mic Menace of Paper Chase Money Gang
Besides himself what other artist does he feel and why?
I feel a lot of artist, but one of my fav’s is Jada Kiss, because the boyz word play is to be respected. And on a more local tip I like Tum Tum, because he is an entertainer, and keeps it music..

Coming from the streets seeing both avenues of life, both money & the struggle what is some good advice to those that are living similar lives he was b4 getting lockedup?&how getting incarcerated has changed him if it has?
Being locked up has allowed me a chance to see what matters. Yeah, I would love to make a come back, but I would much rather be at my 15 yr old daughters graduation. I don’t preach, but I will drop good game for u to pick up. If we don’t take the short cuts, we will win, point blank period! My advice is get some spiritual foundation to stand on, and go get what u want. Way what matters b4 u commit, and trust me, an album full of photo’s of u when u were on wont mean nada at the end of the run..

Have you heard any of the new artist out of Funky Town and how do you feel about the state of the scene in Ft Worth?
The funk has a melting pot of talent, but know one has broken down the barrier. Some one has to make a real movement happen. The way u do it is focus on your town, and let them push u out further, not the other way around.
Don’t be afraid to let some one write u a hit if u know they are better at that part of the game. At this point I want to see u blow so bad I will write the song, but that’s only a drop in the bucket, u have to grind!
What kind of advice would you give me as a female artist trying to make it in music industry?
BABY GIRL, ITS ROUGH ON U, SO U HAVE TO EAT THEM DUDES ON EVERY TRACK. BE THE BEST MC ON THE MIC, AND MAKE IT BE A SONG THAT MEN AND WOMEN WANT TO SING ALONG WITH.
Tommy2Swishers of MOB
Do You Repect What We Doin Out Here As Far As Rappin And Puttin On For The City?
OF COURSE I RESPECT YALLS GRIND, AND I SUPPORT U GUYS TO THE FULLEST..BUT WIN BABY WIN!!
My music has always been different from those around me and sometimes it makes it harder to get respect, especially when everybody else is stuck doing the same thing… Any words of wisdom for artists that stick out like a sore thumb in their environment?
DIFFERENT IS OK, BUT MAKE SURE THAT U ARE HONEST WITH YA SELF AND ITS MARKETABLE! IF IT’S GOOD, IT WILL POP.
How do you feel about legendary status you still have out here and what you expect out the city on music?
WELL, I DON’T REALLY KNOW MY STATUS OUT THERE, BUT I HOPE THAT MY WORK IS RESPECTED. I EXPECT YALL TO FINISH THE JOB FOR ME AND THE CITY!
XO from Billion Dolla Scholars
What do you think about me rapping this 9 to 5 life style over hot street beats but the streets not wanting to rise and gain this knowledge about credit, investments, w2’s, time & a half etc. or just getting all the things we wish to have as a kid the right way?
MAYBE IF U CAN CREATE AN AVENUE FOR YOURSELF THROUGH THE MUSIC, U CAN TEACH THEM THE THINGS U ARE SPEAKING ABOUT.. I AGREE TOTALLY!
